![]() I just built a new PC with Thunderbolt 4 and all three of my Thunderbolt 2 devices seem to be working. I am returning the Asus Zenbook UX425EA laptop. So I post my experience here, maybe someone will can benefit from it! ![]() I did a lot of research beforehand to find any information on Thunderbolt 4 and UAD devices, but could not find anything online. I realise I used the Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter, however this adapter works fine on my Desktop PC as long as it's plugged in at boot. I tried updating all drivers and firmware, but did not get it to work. However I found that when connecting any of my UAD equipment the laptop would crash with a BSOD and wouldn't start with any UAD device connected. I went ahead and ordered a Asus Zenbook UX425EA, a new Tiger Lake laptop with 11th generation Intel i7-1165G7 CPU, 16GB RAM and 1 TB SSD and 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports. I contacted UA support to ask if they had any experience with Thunderbolt 4, their reply was UA hadn't tested it, but it should be backwards compatible and therefor work. However, I was curious to see if the new Thunderbolt 4 would work. I have successfully used my Apollow Twin MK 2 and two Satellites with an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter both on my Intel Macs as well as my Windows 10 desktop PC built around the Gigabyte Z490 Vision D motherboard.
